HOW DOES INSULATION WORK?
Insulation helps prevent heat escaping from your home during cold weather and helps your home to stay cool when the weather is hot. It does this through absorbing heat and slowing down its movement in and out of your home. WHAT IS AN R-VALUE?
An R-Value measures the resistance to heat flow. It is also referred to as “thermal resistance” or a material’s ability to slow heat flow. The higher the R-Value of a product, the greater the product’s insulating power. Materials that have the same R-Value, regardless of thickness, weight, or appearance, are equal in insulation value.
WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT AREAS IN MY HOME TO INSULATE?
Your attic is the most important part of your home to insulate. It is closely followed by the walls around the perimeter of your home and the underfloor, in the event your home is on a raised foundation. By making sure these sections of your home are insulated, you are creating a thermal barrier against the changing hot and cold temperatures outside – keeping your home at a more comfortable temperature year round.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO HIRING AN INSULATION CONTRACTOR?
You wouldn’t do your own dental work – so why would you install your own insulation? Hiring an insulation contractor to complete your job means that you have someone with specialized knowledge and training – ensuring that the work is done correctly and will provide you with the maximum benefit.
It is also important to consider that hiring a contractor that does not specialize in insulation (HVAC, Pest Removal, etc.) or installing the insulation yourself could lead to problems (and more out of pocket cost!) down the road. RBH Insulation strives to provide its customers with the best service possible. Our estimators are kept up to date on the latest industry information in order to provide you with the most accurate estimates and product choices, and our installers have had extensive training in their craft and will provide you will professional service every time!
CAN I BE IN THE HOUSE WHILE MY ATTIC IS BEING INSULATED?
Yes – you are welcome to stay inside your home while the job is being completed! We make sure that the work being completed in the attic remains separate from the rest of your home.
